I was the first person to move into Magnolia Village and I am glad I made the choice. By deciding on Magnolia Village as construction was in progress I was able to suggest changes in the layout of my townhome. Mr. Simmons incorporated my suggestions into the actual building. I was also able to decide on the full range of interior choices, such as countertop, ceiling fans, floors, wall painting, etc.
I am very happy with the quality of the construction. I appreciate the brick exterior. I really like the appearance of my hardwood floor and the ease with which it can be cleaned.
Mr. Simmons and his sons, Daxton and Landon, do not forget you after the sale, either. They are thoroughly professional and are pleasant to deal with. They are as committed after the sale as before. Every discrepancy in the house has been resolved to my satisfaction.
I have been very pleasantly surprised by my utility bill. I was paying twice as much in my old 850 square foot apartment as in my 1816 square foot townhouse.
Magnolia village is one mile west of Gate 7 on the Redstone Arsenal. I appreciate this as I work on the Arsenal. It’s also three miles east of Huntsville International Airport.
Magnolia Village is very quiet. The rear of my townhouse faces Martin Road. I am happy to say I don’t hear Martin Road as the garage is built on the rear of the house and provides sound insulation. Huntsville Fire Station Number 11 is across the street but I don’t hear them either. The approach patterns for both the Arsenal airfield and Huntsville International are north to south and I don’t hear them either when I’m in the house.
I run for exercise, and traffic through Magnolia Village and Lake Forest is not heavy. The weight room, tennis courts, and pool at the club house at Lake Forest are nicely equipped.
In short, knowing what I know now, I would do it again!

We purchased a home from Steve and Beverly Simmons upon be transferred to Huntsville from Richmond, VA 12 1/2 years ago. We fell in love at first sight with it and, in fact, were writing a contract within the hour! We have not regretted it for one minute!
Steve and Beverly were just a class act to work with and made it so easy to work around our moving schedule versus their schedule! They helped us so much those first weeks and Carey, the superintendent was just super with those pesky little questions you have when you first move in. As our one year anniversary of living in the home approached, we contacted Steve with our, and we use the term loosely, punch list. The main item was that we thought we should have another vent in our great room area. Well, Steve promptly came out and realized that the vent was there, it had been covered when the ceiling was put in! Too funny! A few cuts with a hand saw and he popped in the vent cover - and, most importantly, left no mess! We have lived in many houses and none have been the caliber of construction with attention to detail that we have found in our Simmons Home in Oak Point at Mountainbrook here in Madison.
Would we buy from Steve Simmons again? Absolutely! The problem is, we love the home we have so much that we don't want to leave it! We totally recommend Steve Simmons Construction and just know that anyone who works with Steve will be as happy as were are.
